The Taoist Philosophy in Luc Besson’s Movie Lucy

Abstract

This paper focuses on the connection between the science fiction movie Lucy and Taoist philosophy. By analyzing the following three theories - “Harmony between heaven and humanity” “Tao domination”, and “Yin-Yang” - this paper could make viewers comprehend how Eastern Taoist philosophy is present in Western film culture, promoting the esoteric symbols and theories in Taoism so that they can be easily understood by the viewers of all backgrounds.
